There are no free squeeze page and landing page creators that you can build a reliable business on. Even if you are a master coder that can design custom sales pages, you still need hosting and an email service provider.

Step 1: What type of funnel are you building?
The first step is to determine what other software you may need to connect and configuring your ultimate online business funnel masterpiece.
Are you into eCommerce?
Do you do affiliate marketing?
Will you sell an information product?

Many recommend you to go with Membermouse and Samcart.
Comparatively, the issue with this configuration is that when you add-up their costs, it puts you right back up with Clickfunnels. Although a better membership management system, but then you're paying the same! Costs for the most basic plan with Samcart will set you back $99 per month alone.
You can just go with Membermouse alone, which is an excellent solution... you do just need to keep in mind that you have to create all the WordPress pages through Thrive Architect to get them to look how you want.
In contrast, as a clickfunnels alternative, that gets the job done for creating a membership program or online course - I have found a solution.
Personally, the easiest and most cost-effective option for selling information products in your business is Teachable.
For the pro plan it will also cost you the same (remember, there is no free solution).
However, with Teachable you can at least design courses and sell them with just the free plan. Now you do have to pay a higher fee per sale with their payment gateway. Moreover at least you can get started with no upfront cost.

You can build out effective landing pages for your products, or website pages. Not to mention, you can also create opt-in pages to build your email list. However, this does not include a shopping cart function in comparison.
Membermouse - Membership Site Creator
If you have a need to build a membership program, or locked information course content, you can easily build out these products with Membermouse.
GetResponse - Email Marketing System
For those who need an email marketing plan with automation follow-up, you can collect emails, and grow and manage your email list with GetResponse.
Conclusion
To conclude, I still see the value in Clickfunnels as another option for building a seamless sales funnel for your online business. The main problem is the limitations and cost factor (not to mention the scummy affiliates).
