Put simply, Clickfunnels is a funnel software that allows you to create an attractive frontend to collect leads and make sales on their shopping cart. Then Shopify is an eCommerce website creator to host your entire catalog of products.
The two platforms work great when used together in sync.
How To Use Clickfunnels With Shopify
Using Clickfunnels and Shopify can allow you to get more sales and convert more people to your online store.
The eCommerce site example we’ll be using is Luxx Curves, a beauty brand predominately focused on selling waist trainers.
The image below shows a screenshot of her Shopify store:
Then she uses Clickfunnels to set up her sales funnel page:
This is a funnel and sales page created to help convert and acquire customers to ultimately buy her product.
Any type of transformation based product works great with Clickfunnels to easily demonstrate the problem and solution. Or, also known as the before and after photos. You can also include customer testimonials on a page like this.
The business is to sell waist trainers, and she utilizes Clickfunnels to help sell the product with a detailed sales page that promotes the benefits which then funnels more people into her Shopify store.
The way you actually get to the top of the funnel page is by first visiting a video on her YouTube channel, and clicking on the 10% off coupon link.
The YouTube channel is a social media platform that provides value and generates traffic. All the different types of waist training and fitness related videos then push people through the links into her funnel to sell waist training products.
Why Use Clickfunnels and Shopify
The primary reason to use Clickfunnels with Shopify is to teach your potential customers and educate them on the product.
This helps to walk them through the sales process, generally leading to a higher conversion rate.
It’s the job of salespeople! Or rather, your virtual sales rep.
For example, if you were to run Facebook ads or Instagram promotions and send them straight to your Shopify product page.
They may not necessarily buy what you’re selling because they may not know enough about the product to make a decision. Most Shopify product pages lack detailed information about the product or the benefits they can expect from using it. (Not really the case in this example, but it’s still a common issue)
What you can do on your Facebook ads, Instagram page, or YouTube channel is to instead link people to your Clickfunnels page instead of directly to your Shopify product page. This works for any type of traffic acquisition, whether that be paid or organic.
The sales funnel method could be used for your most popular product or whatever you’re trying to sell. It really depends on the kind of store you’re running.
How To Connect Clickfunnels and Shopify
Next, we have the technical setup for connecting Clickfunnels and Shopify to sync the two platforms together.
To do this you’ll first want to log into your Clickfunnels and Shopify accounts.
Then, watch this video and follow the steps for the integration of Shopify with Clickfunnels:
Clickfunnels and Shopify Integration Alternative
One downside to using Clickfunnels and Shopify from the standard integration is that Clickfunnels only syncs the shipping details with Shopify. It does not sync the payment processing details to Shopify as those are completed within the Clickfunnels shopping cart.
What you could do instead as an alternative is to only use Clickfunnels for the sales page builder, and then link directly to Shopify with a cart permalink to preload the cart from your call to action button.
Shopify Cart URL parameters: “http://yourstore.com/cart/#{variant_id}:#{quantity}(,…)”
All you do is add this permalink with a Shopify product ID and it takes people right to the checkout page. You could always just link people to your store’s homepage as well if you prefer something more simple.
I’d suggest taking a look at this article from the Shopify community for cart permalink setup.
To Conclude
Clickfunnels and Shopify work great together to serve specific needs. Whatever type of promotions you’re using, you can send the traffic to your Clickfunnel which teaches people about the product, gets them warmed up, and ultimately more eager to purchase your product.
The entire funnel is designed around selling the product, whereas a Shopify product page doesn’t exactly sell the product and rather allows people to be able to buy it from your eCommerce store. The Shopify store is what hosts all of your products, and how you’re going to fulfill orders.
