What is Spocket?
Spocket is a dropshipping service full of suppliers that connect to your Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, or Wix storefront.
The biggest difference where Spocket stands out in the marketplace of different dropshipping services is shipping times. You don’t want there to be a 3 to 4 week shipping time between when your customer gets the product from the supplier.
Everyone typically jumps straight to AliExpress and are stuck waiting a month for shipping. There are some suppliers on AliExpress that offer US shipping, however, it’s a bit harder to find.
The great thing about Spocket is that you can source US products if you sell to customers located within the US. These shipping times can be as low as 1 to 3-day shipping. This is fantastic for customers so you can actually compete against people running over to Amazon instead.
Taking a look at the Spocket dashboard, you can see there are products you would simply not be able to find on AliExpress.
Many of the suppliers you see within Spocket are unique and it’s something they focus heavily on to offer valuable supplier selection for retailers that use their platform.
Spocket also offers excellent branded invoicing with neutral packaging. Whereas, with AliExpress it typically shows Chinese lettering and the packaging isn’t always the most reliable or trustworthy.
In addition, Spocket offers its software AliScraper, which allows you to import AliExpress products with one-click imports via the chrome extension to your Spocket enabled eCommerce store. This gives you even more supplier selection to choose from if you don’t mind the AliExpress packaging.
What is Oberlo?
Oberlo is a dropshipping service that connects AliExpress to your Shopify store. Oberlo is owned by Shopify and is their flagship dropshipping app.
You can start dropshipping for free with their platform on the free starter plan. If you start to make sales, then you can always scale up to their more premium plans in the future.
The Oberlo chrome extension is very helpful for importing products from AliExpress.
This shows you the shipping method, processing time, and useful visual feedback while doing product research.
The main downside to Oberlo is that you’re limited to the products available within AliExpress. Whereas with Spocket, you have the option to use their suppliers with faster shipping times and more unique products.
To Conclude
At the end of the day, wherever you can find products that serve your needs, in the long run, is another thing to consider.
Both Spocket and Oberlo allow you to get started with your dropshipping business. The platforms also offer valuable case studies on their blogs detailing how other people found success.
